In the first instance, parents who are considering Dubai Modern Education School for their child can arrange to visit and meet the Principal Michael Cipriano, and take a tour of the school.
Dubai Modern Education School is a selective school which means our admissions process does involve entrance tests.
Denise Patterson, who is one of our Vice Principals and Head of the KG-4 school, will also be available for appointments to meet parents and students for interviews and to arrange tours.
Students who are transferring form another school are required to provide the most recent previous school reports outlining academic levels and behavior. This allows us to determine whether we can meet a student’s educational and pastoral needs.
Following this visit, students entering Grades 3-12 will be required to undertake the international MAP test at a time and date scheduled at and by the school. This is an online test that provides the school and parent with an understanding of the level at which the student is at in English, Math and Science.
Separate assessment procedures are undertaken by the KG to 4 school. These students will have an informal assessment which may include reading, writing, arithmetic and non-verbal reasoning.
The final stage in this process is the registration of the student. Once a contract has been signed and a deposit payment made, a student’s place will be guaranteed.
Entry to Dubai Modern Education School is usually the beginning of the Fall, in September. In certain circumstances, we do accept applications at other times during the academic year.
